New Service - Register a birth online
From the 12th of August 2024, parents of newly born children will receive an invitation, by post, to register the birth of their child online.
The invitation will issue from the General Register Office to the mother of the child, as soon as the birth has been notified by the hospital where the child was born.
All registration queries should be directed to the Civil Registration Service.
Accessing Civil Registration Services
You must have a verified MyGovID account to access the Civil Registration Services and complete online registrations. You can verify your account on MyGovID.
