What is the Benefit Payment for 65 Year Olds?

This is a payment for people aged between 65 and 66 years who have ceased employment or self-employment

Who can get the payment?

You may get the payment if:

  • You are aged between 65 and 66 
  • You are not in paid employment or self-employment
  • You satisfy the PRSI Contributions

Can I apply for an increase in payment for my dependants?

In some circumstances you will be eligible to receive an increase in your rate of payment based on criteria regarding any adult or child dependants you might have.

An adult dependant is typically a spouse or partner or cohabitant. More information can be found here
