You will need a basic MyGovID account to apply.
EU Temporary Protection Directive
To access public services in Ireland, you need a Personal Public Service Number (PPSN). If you have recently arrived in Ireland from Ukraine under the EU Temporary Protection Directive, you should not apply online for a PPSN. Instead, you should call to one of our Department’s Offices. The Department has put in place special arrangements to deal with your PPSN application and help with your income support needs, if any.
What is a Personal Public Service Number?
Your Personal Public Service (PPS) Number is a unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland.
Who can get a PPS Number?
You can only get a PPS Number if you need one to access public services. For example, if you are starting a job you will need a PPS Number to pay tax. You do not need a PPS Number if you are looking for work.
What will you be asked for?
