MyWelfare is an online platform that provides access to government and welfare services in Ireland.

MyWelfare is operated by the Department of Social Protection and links to your MyGovID account – your single login for government services in Ireland.

What can I do on MyWelfare?

The platform allows users to apply for social welfare payments, access information about entitlements, check the status of applications, keep up-to-date with claim and payment activity and update personal details.

How do I use MyWelfare?

To get the most out of MyWelfare and access all of our online services you will need to create a MyGovID account. To create an account, you must hold a Public Services Card (PSC). You can verify your account over on MyGovID.ie.

Basic MyGovID account

A basic account is a simple MyGovID account that only takes two minutes to create and lets you access MyWelfare services such as:
  • Applying for a PPS number
  • Requesting a contribution statement
  • Requesting eligibility for dental and optical visits
  • Using our benefit estimators and calculators

Verified MyGovID account

A verified account is a more secure type of MyGovID account that lets you access all available MyWelfare services such as:
  • Renewing your Public Services Card
  • Applying for welfare services such as Jobseeker’s Payment, Maternity or Paternity Benefit, Child Benefit, and many other services available online
  • Managing your claim information on your personal dashboard
