What is the Accommodation Recognition Payment?
The government wishes to recognise the generosity of people who have opened their homes and provided accommodation to host people arriving in Ireland under the EU Temporary Protection Directive. The payment is €800 per property where there is at least one such person being hosted. A maximum of 15 properties can be added to a single application. More details are available here.
Who can get the Accommodation Recognition Payment?
You may get this payment if:
- You are providing (or have provided) accommodation to a person who has arrived in Ireland under the EU Temporary Protection Directive.
- The accommodation meets required standards. More details are available here.
- Your property is in the Republic of Ireland.
- There is at least one person being hosted on the last day of the calendar month for which payment is due.
What will you be asked about?
Personal details
You will be asked to provide personal details about yourself so that we can identify you.
Property details
You will need to provide the address of the property in which you are hosting people.
Resident details
You will need to provide details of each person you are hosting, including their name, PPS Number, the date they began residing in your host accommodation and, if applicable, the date you ceased hosting each resident.
Payment method
You will be asked to provide your bank details.
